Double Consonants with the Shift Key
The five Korean double consonants correspond directly to their single consonant equivalents on the top row of the left hand. Holding Shift while pressing Q produces ㅃ. Holding Shift with W produces ㅉ. Holding Shift with E produces ㄸ. Holding Shift with R produces ㄲ, and holding Shift with T produces ㅆ. Because all five double consonants are located on the left hand, you will primarily use your right pinky finger to hold down the right Shift key.
Using opposite-hand shift key technique is the golden rule of touch typing. When typing a double consonant on your left hand, press and hold the right Shift key with your right little finger. This keeps your left hand aligned naturally over the target keys, preventing clumsy finger gymnastics.
